Due to popular demand, we have included “viewer age” which allows you to specify the age of the person viewing the profile. We added this because affiliates said that certain offers will only pay for certain age groups, which makes sense to me so BAM, I have delivered.

So just to clarify:
“Viewer Age” – Age of the person viewing the profile
“Profile Age” – Age of the person in the profile.
So if you wanted to target 30-35 aged male looking at 25-30 age female profiles, you would do:
“Viewer Age”: 30-35
“Profile Age”: 25-30
Hope this helps!

This is exclusive to the 300×250 ads.

Now we allow you to target the profiles that a person is looking at instead of the person themselves. So you know if this person is looking at a mature profile, that they are interested in a mature partner (and thus, is an appropriate time to show them a mature dating ad).
This goes very well with any niche campaigns that you may have. Another example is if you know the guy is looking at an Asian girl profile, he probably likes Asian girls.. so you should find an offer that caters to this situation.
I won’t say too many more examples but I’m sure that there are a million ideas going through your head right now! I hope you’re as excited as I am because this is a game changer.
Hopefully I’ll be able to deliver more game changers to the community in 2013! My friends, test this out ASAP!!!!

Disclaimer: This post has nothing advertising related, it’s just cool.
If you haven’t heard, we threw a contest for couples that met on POF and are engaged to get married! The winning couple gets $100,000! There are 6 finalists and they’re listed here:
http://www.pof.com/contest_finalists.aspx
It’s easy to forget about the bigger picture when you’re so focused on your campaigns but I’d like to take this chance to remind you that you do play a role at POF. The advertisements are what keeps the engines running at POF. So pat yourself on the back and know that you are contributing to the happiness of millions of people around the world. My only hope is that you’re making enough return to take care of yourself and your loved ones.
You know what’s funny about this whole contest? The fact that I met my fiancée on POF and we’re getting married this year but I don’t qualify to win the $100k! ARGH! If I had won, you’d better believe you’d all be invited to THE BEST wedding of your life LOL

It’s true! We released a new banner size to help you guys get a higher CTR w/ a larger banner
This is just one of many improvements coming in January so stay tuned for more!

WhatRunsWhere.com is a competitive intelligence service for online media buying. You basically use their software to check out what other companies are doing on other traffic sources for an inspiration to your own campaign.
The guys over wanted to deliver an early holiday gift to my readers so here’s 3 months free, just use THIS LINK!
Hopefully this helps in getting your creative juices flowing for your next POF campaign.
I would recommend you get yourself setup because the BIG ROI$$$ season is only 2 weeks away! Think about it. Right after Christmas is New Years Eve and singles are HIGHLY MOTIVATED to find someone to spend NYE with so the chances of them signing up to a dating site increases dramatically. Then, after New Years Eve, millions of singles will be disappointed by their night (This includes people already in a relationship!), and thus, putting them in another HIGHLY MOTIVATED state of mind. The next time this HIGHLY MOTIVATED state of mind occurs is after Valentines so get it while it’s good!
Cheers!

Mike from nDemand was nice enough to invite me to their annual meetup! If you didn’t know, they’re a network that takes their top affiliates to some place WARM during the winter time. This year’s destination was the Bahamas! In contrast to the big crazy conferences, this was an intimate meetup with a group of guys who were all the best at what they do. The meetup started with a boat ride on a Catamaran where we all got settled in and got to know one another.

Then the captain drove us to a spot where we could go snorkeling. This was my first time going snorkeling and it was a ton of fun! But, have you ever tried to swim against a strong current? Here’s a picture of Seth that sums up the experience LOL:
We had lunch and then they took us to a PRIVATE ISLAND where they had a beach volleyball court set up.

(Me right before serving up some FIRE)

(The other teams checking out their competition)
After we all had time to shower and what not, dinner was served!
I ordered the tiger prawns as an appy and holy crap, they don’t mess around with the size of their prawns in the bahamas. This sucker was as big as my fork!
And lastly, here’s a pic of the hotel view:
Not bad right?
Wouldn’t it be awesome if YOU could come to the nDemand meetup 2013? Well, you can. Mike has VERY generously given me the OK to send POF’s top spender for January 1st, 2013 to August 31st, 2013 to next year’s nDemand meetup so you can come hang out with me, some of the other heavy hitters in our industry and of course, the nDemand crew. There’s currently a vote up for which destination to head to in 2013 (Hawaii vs. Dominican Republic vs Puerto Rico) but Mike promises a bigger and better meetup.
Follow me if you want to win

Hi Everyone!
Well I’m back in the office from my vacation (Cheers to nDemand for the invite to their meetup in the BAHAMAS)!I trust Cyndi has been taking very good care of you all!
So the “Show to Converter” targeting has data from day 1 of your campaign and not since we released the targeting capability. So to those with old campaigns that have been using the pixel, you’re sitting on a gold mine! Next week, I’ll elaborate on what I think this means when I’m done slaying this 9 day queue
Cheers,
Ben
The newest targeting option on https://ads.pof.com is “PREVIOUSLY CONVERTED”

This means you can target people who have previously converted on an offer, or target people who have yet to convert on any offers! This is extremely powerful stuff and will definitely require some split testing to master.
My guess? It’s going to depend on which log-in count you’re using
Cheers to a strong end of the week!

Hello advertisers!
Please be advised that minimum CPM for campaigns is now $0.16. This will take effect on new campaigns and when you edit your campaigns. What does this mean? The previous $0.13 campaigns will remain until you edit them. To be honest, they won’t stay competitive for long as more and more new campaigns are introduced into the platform. The 728×90′s MIGHT also need increasing IF you are bidding the bare minimum for them.

Here at POF, we’re constantly working to improve our user experience. With this in mind, we are disallowing ads that call out the ethnicity of the user. We will still feature ethnicity targeting in our ad platform. We hope that with this change, our users will be provided better quality ads as a result.
